As always our friends at ShelterBox have been busy monitoring and deploying across the globe to natural disasters and conflict; from flooding in Pakistan to the continued unrest and conflict in Ukraine. ShelterBox is only able to continue to provide all necessary items with generous support.  When planning for his year of club visits, DG Mike said he would like for EACH club in D5010 to participate, even if it's $50, we want each club to be a part of supporting ShelterBox.

A fun program that provides recognition is the HERO program. The HERO program was designed and remains a way for ShelterBox to stay prepared for upcoming disasters in several ways. Natural and other disasters are inevitable and frequent, and the need is continuous. It takes time for items to be purchased or manufactured before being packed and, by pre-packing aid, it is ready to go when needed.  ShelterBox HERO Clubs allow us the resources and time to be ready when disaster strikes. A ShelterBox HERO is a Rotary Club who has committed to making an ongoing impact in worldwide disaster response by donating $1,000, $3,000 or $5,000 within a Rotary Year.

These annual donations allow ShelterBox to pre-position equipment in or near countries where we respond often, resulting in a more efficient and timely response.
$1000 pays for an entire ShelterBox, everything it contains and to get it to a distribution site.

HERO Levels = Bronze, Silver or Gold

There are three HERO levels with commensurate levels of annual giving:
Bronze ($1,000) Silver ($3,000) Gold ($5,000)
Clubs can mail checks to:

Please put District 5010 on the memo line!!

Lastly, the other question I get is how does ShelterBox choose when to deploy? The click below explains that beautifully:
