She had room but no bedding/towels or gifts for the kids for Christmas. Wasilla noon Rotary with help from other Rotarians raised enough to cover what they needed and a bit more. The shoppers were below Daun W, Lisa P and Joni G. I was in contact with Judith Cain (Mom) just before Christmas and, with clarification about the kids and their “favorites” along with delivery logistics, we set out shopping. Daun Weiss, Joni Gerharz and I met up on Saturday, December 22 and spend a few hours combing through Walmart, Sears, Fred Meyer and Lowes. Once we were sure we found the perfect gifts for the kids, we met at my office for the wrapping party. Every wish on their list was granted and we came in under budget. After picking up some needed Dishes for Mom & Dad, we put the balance of $250 in a gift card they could spend on other needed items. Dan and I met up with Judith on Sunday 12/23 at my office to load her car with the gifts and had a chance to chat a little before she headed home. She was very humble and very excited for her kiddos. She wanted to thank Rotary from the bottom of her heart and wanted to let us know that when they are able, they will repay our kindness.
