awarded Spring Creek Correctional Center Superintendent, Bill Lapinskas, a Paul Harris Fellowship, and Be The Inspiration banner at the maximum security prison in Seward. Bill was awarded this honor because of his groundbreaking work in restorative justice at the prison. Though it was intended to award the fellowship while prisoners involved in the restorative justice program were present, a lockdown because of the earthquake and tsunami warning prevented that. Despite all the turmoil, Bill remained calm and was sincerely honored by this award, but soon kindly told us that he had to get back to work. Governor Diane waited out the Seward Highway road closure and then headed home. |
