June Message to Members

With June being Fellowship Month, it is fitting that many of our members are in Hamburg at the Rotary International convention meeting fellow Rotarians from all over the world.  This is one year I will miss as our oldest daughter, Anna, is being married soon! 

 

Fellowship covers our interactions with our family, our friends, our communities and our global neighbors around the world.  With Rotary being inclusive to all, accepting of all and geared for action, fellowship is the glue that binds us together. We hatch ideas around a good meal or a community barbecue, we establish partnerships and determine how best to work together - and THEN the People of Action DO take action to accomplish the myriad of things on their list.  

 

I have many words to express being your District Governor but excited, humbled and proud of all that our 40 clubs have accomplished are just a very few.  The PowerPoint presentation DGN Joe Kashi put together for the District Conference showcased the basics.  The year has flown by and the ideas, global grants, and many community projects that were accomplished are the guiding light for the future. Our Rotary Cares for Kids District project is continuing and getting better all the time.  As Rotary we do accept all beliefs and I invite you to walk under the Banner of Rotary International District 5010 in the Anchorage Pride Festival parade with me on June 29th or do so in the parades in your own areas. 

 

Our District website is getting a fresh new look so be sure to check it out and help to keep everything current. 

 

And as we enjoy the summer that is finally here, continue to do the good work with your fellow members, bring in more friends to help and enjoy great companionship and as always - continue to BE the INSPIRATION!
