Jane Little, our Rotary Int’l Council Representative for 2017-20 will be summarizing important legislative proposals and holding webinars for discussion in February prior to the voting in April 2019.

Dear Rotary 5010 Leaders:

The 2018 Council on Resolutions convened online in October and November for District Council Representatives to vote on the Proposed Resolutions.  Voting closed on November 15th and the results were tallied and the results are available at https://my.rotary.org/en/cor/vote

Resolutions and Enactments are very different because Resolutions that are adopted are recommendations to the Rotary International Board of Directors that may or may not be implemented.  Whereas the Rotary International Board of Directors is obligated to implement those enactments that are adopted by the Council on Legislation.  Our next Council on Legislation will be held in Chicago on April 11-14, 2019 and there are 116 Proposed Enactments that have been accepted for consideration.

If you would like to learn more about the Council on Legislation, you can link to https://my.rotary.org/en/learning-reference/about-rotary/councils

If you would like to study the Proposed Enactments and send me your comments, you can link to https://my.rotary.org/en/document/proposed-legislation-2019-council-legislation

On February 2nd, there will be a handout distributed at the District Leadership Meeting regarding the Proposed Enactments.  There will be another email after the Leadership Meeting including the handout information.  There will be some online meetings that you can attend to discuss the proposed enactments with the times and dates to be announced in the handout.

If you have questions or need additional information, please contact me at rotaryjane@yahoo.com or call me at (907) 299-1649.

Best Regards,

Jane Little, District 5010 Council on Legislation Representative
