Mandate:

Assist Rotary Clubs in Alaska/Yukon with their public relations efforts to inform Rotarians and non-Rotarians about Rotary: who we are, and what we do/have done.

Specific activities:

o Maintain a monthly news exchange covering what clubs are doing

o Develop contacts with media outlets district wide that clubs can access, as well as generic ads that all clubs can use.

o Train clubs to use Rotary International's PSAs and other available tools by providing sessions at the district assembly, regionally, or via webinars

o Place the D5010 on websites (for example www.buyalaska.com ) other than our own

o Have a regional contact that can work with clubs, attend monthly presidents' meetings and offer training

o Work with the District Governor on a spokesperson's message; provide talking points and record a P.R. spot at the beginning of the year.

o Create a "new media" committee, examples: Facebook or Twitter

o Develop benchmarks by which to gauge success of the activities.
